Job summary

CBIZ is offering a full-time, semester-long internship in Boston from January 2027 through June 2027. The program provides immersive experience in client engagements, investigations, and litigation consulting for accounting matters.

Interns will inventory and review documents, perform preliminary analyses, and assist in preparing client deliverables while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA-eligibility credits in progress or planned.
• Experience or coursework in accounting investigations or related areas.
• Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proven research and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and review documents and data to support forensic conclusions and economic damage calculations.
• Perform preliminary analyses and communicate findings with team members.
• Assist in preparing client presentations, expert reports, and other engagement deliverables.
• Conduct ad hoc client or industry research.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking; know when to escalate.
• Maintain high professional standards and confidentiality.
• January 2027 – June 2027 Internship; Full-time (40 hours/week) Mon–Fri.

• Perform preliminary analyses, clear review comments in a timely manner, communicate findings and observations with appropriate team members
• Assist in the preparation of client presentations, expert witness reports, and other client engagement deliverables for accounting investigations and complex commercial litigation matters
• Complete ad hoc client and/or industry-specific research
• Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills, knowing when to ask for help
• Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality, and personal conduct
• January 2027 – June 2027 Internship
• Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday
• Designed to provide students with an immersive, semester-long experience with client engagements, investigations, and litigation consulting matters
• Candidates must be available to work full-time during the duration of the program

Preferred Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in accounting, or related field
• Active tracking and pursuit of educational credits required to be CPA-eligible
• Work experience in accounting or a related field
• Active participation in student organizations
• Demonstrated flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary, to meet client needs and engagement deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
• Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet software
