Job Summary
The Utility Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily field operations for underground utility construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards. This position supervises field crews installing water, sewer, storm drainage, and other underground utilities while coordinating equipment, materials, subcontractors, and inspections to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and lead utility crews performing underground utility installation.
· Plan daily work activities and assign tasks to crew members.
· Read and interpret blueprints, utility plans, profiles, and specifications.
· Ensure proper trenching, shoring, excavation, backfilling, and compaction practices.
· Verify utility elevations, grades, and alignments using survey stakes, lasers, and grade equipment.
· Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and utility companies.
· Schedule and monitor deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies.
