Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors; monitor work per agreement.
  • Maintain a safe site; conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Prepare daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and time cards.
  • Ensure quality compliance by inspecting fieldwork and drawings.
  • Communicate project needs to management and customers as needed.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning.
  • Provide timely documentation for reporting safety issues and injuries.
  • Support staff training and opportunities for safety advancement.

## Foreman/Superintendent (Utilities)Applylocations: Rogers, MNtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: R-102232**Job Description:**The Superintendent/Foreman manages the daily site activities by ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. The Superintendent/Foreman directly manages the lead personnel and staff on each project site.**A Day in the Life*** Daily communication with General Superintendents regarding job specific needs including workforce and equipment requirements.* Daily contact with job site crews to ensure project time schedule and workforce needs are being met.* Schedules subcontractors to complete work as needed. Monitors subcontractor work to ensure work is complete per subcontractor agreement.* Maintains safe working environment by identifying workplace hazards and taking corrective action when necessary.* Ensures employees have up-to-date information on safety procedures and policies.* Conducts daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weekly Tool Box topics.* Complete daily record keeping including: daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and time cards.* Manages field personnel in fair and equitable manner in accordance with Veit policies, procedures, as well as compliance with local and federal laws.* Addresses staff performance issues as they occur.* Participates in pre-construction meetings to discuss project start up and project planning. Prepares and participates in regular job site meetings throughout the project lifecycle.* Provides timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage and work place injuries, according to Veit policies and procedures.* Ensures all work follows specified quality standards. Inspects field work for quality compliance, materials for quality compliance and review assembly of manufacturer’s literature and drawings before work begins.* Responds to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.* Regular participation in training for construction methods and safety. Supports training opportunities for staff.* Keeps supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect company operations.**What You’ll Need*** Two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* OSHA 10 hour (preferred but not required), OSHA 30 hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid.* Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legal documents.* Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, iPad and iPhone.* Ability to communicate and schedule project needs appropriately.* Good communication skills both oral and written when working with all levels of management and employees, external vendors and other business associates. Must clearly communicate directions and information. Speaks effectively before groups as well as individuals. Must have good interpersonal skills.* Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios, and proportions to practical field quantity situations.* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
