Job summary

Altitude Energy, LLC is seeking a Foreman for our Substation division. This field role involves leading crews, managing daily activities, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence across projects.

You will supervise journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors, coordinate with leadership, and maintain equipment and reports. Travel and field presence are essential for delivering reliable electrical power construction outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Requires CDL Class A and clean MVR.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience.
  • Journeyman Certificate; through the Department of Labor.
  • Intermediate computer skills for time tracking, emails, and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Document timely; report incidents, crew time, daily reports, and receipts.
  • Attend meetings and participate.
  • Use forecasting tools, production tracking, budgeting, billing, and change orders.
  • Read and follow contract documents; ensure work matches contracts.
  • Manage sub-contractors and change conditions; handle risks.
  • Direct and supervise daily crew activities.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and job costs.
  • Control project schedule and communicate delays to leadership.
  • Maintain tools and equipment; training; inspections; safety compliance.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership; quality control on projects.

About the Role:

Job Title: Foreman

Division: Substation

Field Positions (Includes Field Management): Fully in Field, Traveling as required

Reports To: General Foreman

Supervises: Crews: Journeyman, Sub Tech, Apprentices, Operators, Subcontractors

  • Driver's license and MVR requirement: Class 'A' CDL and clean MVR
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years' previous experience
  • Qualifications/Certifications: Journeyman Certificate; through the Department of Labor
  • Technical Skills: For time tracking, sending emails, navigating phone apps and completing project reports, you must have intermediate level computer skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Essential Skills, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs all duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Documentation done timely. Accurate reporting and tracking followed through to completion. Includes reporting incidents, crew time, daily reports, unit tracking, submitting and coding receipts.
  • Attend, prepare for and participate in meetings.
  • Basic forecasting tools, software tools, production tracking, % completes, budget tracking, billing, change order management, and punch lists.
  • Can read, understand and follow all contract documents. Ensure all work is completed according to contract documents.
  • Sub-contractor management, identify changed conditions, dispute management, risk management.
  • Work alongside, plan, direct, and supervise daily activities of your crew.
  • Monitor and manage manpower, manhours, material, equipment, rentals and other job cost impact items.
  • Monitor and manage project schedule. Adjust as necessary to meet deadlines. Inform leadership when falling behind schedule.
  • Tooling and Equipment Management, you will assist with ensuring maintenance is up to date, employees trained to operate, kept organized, taken care of, kept clean and in working order, inspections are completed, taken out of service if damaged or broken.
  • Maintains open communication with leadership.
  • Responsible for quality control on your projects
  • Understand and comply with Company Policies and Operating Procedures.

  • Diligent and is detail oriented.
  • Can effectively communicate expectations clearly, set goals, monitor progress and mentor team members. This includes monitoring your crews to ensure they efficiently manage their time and reduce downtime.
  • Must remain calm in stressful situations. Holds team accountable, disciplines and documents performance issues. Evaluate crew members’ work performance.
  • Facilitate technical and safety training for your team.
  • Forward thinking and proactive. Must prioritize critical tasks and be able to multi-task.
  • Deals with coworkers, customers, engineers, and sub-contractors in a professional manner.
  • Elevate concerns with safety, crew, or project to leadership.
  • Mentor apprentices to ensure they stay on track with books, hours and FPRs
Essential Safety Requirements
  • Adheres to and promotes Altitude's safety culture as a core value.
  • Must arrive at your designated work area on time (early) and "Fit for Duty". Physically, mentally, and emotionally ready to work.
  • JHA management, to include thoroughly completing, reviewing with crew, correcting deficiencies and modifying if tasks change.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping on your sites.
  • Ensure trainings are up to date for your crews.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Facilitate incident management and reporting.
  • Promotes and participates in Altitude's "Monthly Safety Meetings".
  • Adheres to all applicable Altitude, Local, State and Federal safety standards and safety requirements.
  • Wears all required protective and safety equipment while performing tasks that require it.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to climb, bend over, kneel, squat, crawl and reach overhead.
  • Required to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to use two handed tools.
  • Able to speak and hear information through oral communication.
  • Has visual acuity to see items clearly and sharply.
  • Must be able to work in tight or confined spaces.
Other Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Working conditions could include inclement weather.
  • Working at heights.
  • This job requires you to report to your job site on time as directed.
  • Excluding storm projects- work schedules/hours can be up to 12-hour days and up to 60-hours per week.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, out of town, overtime, outages, and storm calls as required.
