Job summary

Severfield is seeking an experienced Foreman - Erection to join our construction team across UK sites. You will oversee steel erection activities, ensure compliance with RAMS, and lead a crew to deliver projects on time and to spec.

In this role, you’ll supervise site labour, enforce safety, interpret technical drawings, and coordinate with plant and PPE usage. This position offers overtime opportunities and travel time allowances as part of our commitment to safe, efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
• 6-10 years’ experience in construction with proven expertise in steel erection.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee RAMS, task briefings, lift plans, and permit systems and ensure follow‑through by the team.
• Ensure all site labour under supervision are trained and competent.
• Maintain project programmes and sequences for efficient execution.
• Ensure all plant, equipment, and PPE are used in compliance with policies.
• Conduct daily briefings, highlight hazards, discuss tasks, and encourage engagement.
• Maintain quality control by enforcing procedures on bolted connections, check sheets, and fault reporting.
