Rush Enterprises, Inc is seeking a Foreman in Houston, TX to lead qualified diesel mechanics in a high-volume service department. You will ensure repairs are completed correctly, assign work fairly, and support technicians to develop their skills.

The role requires CDL, ASE Master certification and related shop supervision experience, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. A competitive pay and total rewards package is offered.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required with supervision experience in a shop setting.
• CDL and insurability with company carrier required.
• ASE Master or equivalent manufacturer certifications preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Recruit, hire and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist mechanics in their skill development with Service Manager support.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to match skill levels.
• Ensure repairs are distributed fairly among mechanics.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when needed.
• Check progress of each repair order (WIP) daily.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks through spot checks.
• Road test vehicles to verify work quality.
• Monitor daily productivity reports and payroll records.

Educación

The Foreman ensures that qualified diesel mechanics perform repairs correctly and efficiently and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technician(s) to mechanical segments that match their skill level to ensure quality.
• Ensure that all repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (W-I-P) of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.

Basic Qualifications:
