Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial mechanical, piping, and/or plumbing construction.
  • 2+ years of experience as Foreman, Lead, or similar role on commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, codes, and construction practices.
  • Able to read blueprints, specifications, and isometrics.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily piping activities to meet safety, quality, and schedule goals.

The Foreman, Piping plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating all piping installation activities on construction sites within the United States. This position ensures that piping systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards. The Foreman is responsible for managing a team of pipefitters and laborers, providing technical guidance, and maintaining high‑quality workmanship throughout the project lifecycle. They act as a key liaison between project management, subcontractors, and onsite personnel to facilitate smooth operations and timely completion of piping tasks. Ultimately, the Foreman, Piping ensures that all piping work contributes to the overall success and safety of the construction project while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.

SAFETY LEADERSHIP:
  • Promote and maintain a safety-first culture on the jobsite every day.
  • Ensure compliance with the K CORP Safety Manual, OSHA requirements, and applicable project-specific safety standards.
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks and safety meetings and submit required documentation.
  • Review applicable health and safety topics with crews on a regular basis.
  • Identify, communicate, and address jobsite hazards before work begins and as conditions change.
  • Complete required safety observations.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE is available, properly maintained, and consistently used.
  • Complete and review Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) with crews and revise plans when work conditions or tasks change.
QUALITY & WORKMANSHIP:
  • Maintain K CORP's quality standards and ensure work meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Implement and maintain project QA/QC requirements.
  • Ensure QA/QC documentation is completed and updated for applicable work activities.
  • Monitor installed quantities, labor productivity, and quality of completed work.
  • Inspect work in progress and address quality issues promptly.
  • Ensure piping installations comply with project drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes and standards.
PLANNING & COORDINATION:
  • Plan the work and work the plan by coordinating and supervising daily construction activities.
  • Participate in project turnover, kickoff, and change‑order discussions as requested by the Superintendent.
  • Develop and maintain rolling three-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Maintain project schedules, manpower plans, and labor projections.
  • Track and communicate weekly project progress.
  • Thoroughly review and understand project scope documents, drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to support project schedules and workflow.
  • Manage subcontractor activities as assigned, including schedule, coordination, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Anticipate potential field challenges and proactively communicate solutions to project leadership.
PROJECT EXECUTION:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of piping crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, piping drawings, isometric drawings, specifications, submittals, and schematics.
  • Layout piping systems and develop field sketches, isometric drawings, and schematics as needed.
  • Apply applicable ASME and ANSI codes and standards to project work.
  • Prepare accurate material takeoffs based on project plans, specifications, and approved submittals.
  • Complete material requisitions accurately and allow appropriate lead time for procurement.
  • Coordinate the delivery, placement, storage, and protection of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor material usage to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
  • Maintain assigned tool inventories and equipment rental schedules.
  • Coordinate with project teams and other trades to resolve field conflicts and maintain workflow.
  • Support inspections and ensure corrective items are completed promptly.
CREW LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT:
  • Provide clear daily direction and expectations to field personnel.
  • Lead, motivate, and hold crews accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship.
  • Mentor and develop trade personnel to strengthen technical skills and support career development.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for employees.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and respectful communication on the jobsite.
  • Address field issues promptly and elevate employee or project concerns to the Superintendent or appropriate leadership when necessary.
DOCUMENTATION & ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete accurate Daily Reports, including project photos when applicable.
  • Maintain weekly and daily project documentation as required.
  • Maintain accurate employee timekeeping, including hours worked and applicable cost coding.
  • Maintain and submit required sign-in sheets.
  • Submit expense reports and supporting receipts in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, work progress, equipment usage, and installed quantities.
  • Review and manage employee PTO requests in accordance with company policy and project staffing requirements.
  • Follow K CORP vehicle policies and required vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure company, customer, and project policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial mechanical, piping, and/or plumbing construction.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Foreman, Lead, or in a comparable field supervisory role on commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial piping systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, piping schematics, and isometric drawings.
  • Proven experience coordinating field crews, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and project activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage manpower, schedules, productivity, and project milestones.
  • Strong commitment to jobsite safety, quality, and OSHA compliance.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Ability to meet applicable pre-employment requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Journeyman Pipefitter certification.
  • Experience with large‑scale commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Experience with data center, healthcare, manufacturing, aviation, or other complex commercial projects.
  • Proficiency with Procore, digital construction documentation, and related project management applications.
  • Experience with ADP Time & Attendance or similar workforce management systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Formal leadership or construction supervision training.
