Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct all employees within assigned area to perform work.
  • Enforce safety regulations and interpret company policies.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders; assign duties accordingly.
  • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules; consider machine capacities.
  • Suggest improvements to production methods, equipment, and quality.
  • Communicate expectations and responsibilities to staff.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems; assist staff as needed.
  • Motivate workers to achieve goals; monitor performance.
  • Report hours accurately; ensure correct job charges.
  • Administer disciplinary actions; monitor safety and attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements; review QA manuals annually.
  • Provide training as needed (Fall Protection, Confined Space).

Duties And Responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this role. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Direct all employees who are assigned to him/her to perform all work within assigned area
  • Interpret company policies to assigned workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties accordingly
  • Establish and/or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product, and suggest changes accordingly
  • Communicate expectations to employees as to make certain they understand responsibilities
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in resolving problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Communicate deficiencies (i.e. areas needing attention) for correction
  • Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations for merit increases and promotions
  • Accurate and timely reporting of hours worked for each employee he/she has responsibility for; hours charged appropriately to the various jobs
  • Administer disciplinary actions consistently by monitoring safety performance, attendance, quality of work and productivity
  • Monitor workmanship and the quality program making certain that products are manufactured in accordance with applicable company, customer and regulatory requirements
  • Review the Gunderson QA manual, on an annual basis
  • Fall Protection Training and Confined Space Training

  • Passed Gunderson Pipe Test

Advanced blueprint reading

Basic computer skills

  • ADP/timecards, NavisWork, Sharepoint
  • Organization skill & critical thinking
  • Ability to receive assignments and work efficiently w/out oversight
  • Task others and monitor performance
Working Conditions
  • Work overtime as required (varies, may require some weekend days)
  • Workaround traffic and heavy manufacturing equipment
  • Work at heights on scaffolding and ladders, in dim-lit areas, on slippery or uneven surfaces
  • Exposure to heat, cold, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, toxic chemicals, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Work in confined space, move through manway and tank openings
  • Occasionally lift/carry 11-50 lbs and push/pull a maximum of 50 lbs
Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $36 – $44 per hour.
