Job summary

Sun Chemical seeks a Production Lead for its Richmond, VA facility to oversee paste ink manufacturing operations. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, team development, process optimization, and maintaining high product quality in a safe, efficient environment.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Experience coordinating production schedules and guiding a production workforce is valued.

Responsibilities

• Review daily & weekly production schedule with MRPs and Site manager.
• Direct the work of the production workforce to meet deadlines.
• Operate production equipment safely (e.g. three roll mills, mixers, forklift).
• Ensure production documentation is complete and accurate.
• Perform SAP functions related to production and navigate databases as needed.
• Participate in safety committee and OTIF targets.
• Oversee 5S program and daily housekeeping in the production department.
• Provide training and participate in employee evaluations and coaching.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Production Lead to participate in and oversee paste ink manufacturing operations at our Richmond, VA facility. This person is responsible for fostering a positive, safe, and efficient production environment while ensuring high product quality. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on leader who can develop teams, optimize processes, and consistently meet business expectations.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Review daily & weekly production schedule with MRPs and Site manager
• Direct the work of the production workforce to meet production deadlines
• Operate production equipment proficiently and safely (i.e. three roll mills, mixers, forklift)
• Ensure that all production documentation is completed completely and accurately
• Perform SAP functions related to production with the ability to navigate additional databases as required.
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Participate as a safety committee member
• Work closely with site management to ensure that site meets OTIF targets
• Oversee daily housekeeping and 5S program for production department
• Facilitate departmental OJT training
• Participate and provide feedback for employee evaluations, discipline, counsel, coaching, and handling of complaints
• May perform other duties as required, including but not limited to Quality Control, Shipping, and Inventory Management

Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read and write English.
