Under LIMITED supervision, provides installation and repair of complex electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems working from a technical blueprint. Able to perform work in a construction environment in a safe manner and to OSHA standards. Is highly competent in OSHA standards.
Electrician Responsibilities
- Manages Apprentices and other Journeyman assigned to them in a construction environment.
- Plans & directs daily jobsite activities.
- Ensures Project dailies are completed.
- Maintains daily information flow to superintendent.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Perform general electrical maintenance.
- Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
- Inspect control circuits including motor starters & control circuits.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
- Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, controllers, or fixtures.
- Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
- Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
- Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems- HVAC.
- Good knowledge of various test equipment.
Electrician Requirements
- OSHA 30 hr Certificate.
- Completion of a State approved electrician apprenticeship program.
- State Journeyman card (or in process of obtaining card)
- Experience working as an electrician.
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver’s license.
