Role Overview
The Foreman Electrician will supervise crews, coordinate work schedules, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and company standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices on job sites.
- Plan, schedule, and assign tasks to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, conduit, panels, and fixtures.
- Ensure work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Conduct quality control checks and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other trades.
- Train and mentor team members.
- Complete daily reports, work logs, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols on-site.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License (required).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Proficiency in electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme weather.
- Lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, and work at heights or confined spaces.
- Travel to job sites as needed.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
