As a key member of the hospital’s Design & Construction team, the construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and execution of hospital construction projects performed by the in-house construction team. This role requires strong leadership, expertise in construction practices, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, project managers and hospital management, to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and execution of hospital construction projects performed by the in-house construction team.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, project managers and hospital management, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate renovations and construction activities performed by SJH construction team, contractors and vendors.
- Routinely inspect construction sites to identify proper procedures or problems with ongoing work or infrastructure exposed during construction.
- Oversee ongoing work on construction sites and schedule staff in disciplines including carpenters, painters, HVAC mechanics, electricians and plumbers; coordinate work through other departments such as Maintenance, Security, or IT on active construction projects.
- Maintain an understanding of budgetary compliance for projects, including time and materials spend.
