Position Summary

To lead and support a crew or crews safely and effectively towards completing tasks that align with overall project goals, in a safe and quality manner, while meeting or exceeding production targets. The role also involves mentoring crew members for growth and improvement.

Essential Duties

1. Establish daily/weekly work plans and communicate them effectively to the crew(s).
2. Mentor the crew(s) to fill out detailed PTPs that identify hazards and risks.
3. Coordinate with the Supervisor to acquire resources such as equipment, manpower, materials, tools, and subcontractors, managing these efficiently.
4. Enter time, complete daily reports, track units, and evaluate production to meet or exceed goals.
5. Mentor crew members for growth and improvement.
6. Perform all work tasks safely, maintaining an accident/incident-free environment for all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Prerequisites

1. OSHA 10-Hour Certification – Required (training provided by Wayne Brothers).
2. OSHA 30-Hour Certification – Required (training provided by Wayne Brothers).
3. Competent Person Training for excavation/trenching and confined spaces.
4. First Aid CPR Trained.
5. Civil Group Pre-requisites for various roles.
6. Ability to mentor others into the assistant foreman role.
7. Ability to establish and communicate production goals.
8. Ability to lead multiple crews.
9. Mentor the team for growth, improvement, and morale.
10. Ability to train crews on best practices.
11. Physical requirements as specified in the addendum.

Skillsets to be Mastered

1. Understanding contracted scope of work and tracking extra work.
2. Subcontractor coordination and material ordering.
3. Project scheduling and planning.

Reporting and Advancement

• Reports to the Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
