Position Summary
To lead and support a crew or crews safely and effectively towards completing tasks that align with overall project goals, in a safe and quality manner, while meeting or exceeding production targets. The role also involves mentoring crew members for growth and improvement.
Essential Duties
- Establish daily/weekly work plans and communicate them effectively to the crew(s).
- Mentor the crew(s) to fill out detailed PTPs that identify hazards and risks.
- Coordinate with the Supervisor to acquire resources such as equipment, manpower, materials, tools, and subcontractors, managing these efficiently.
- Enter time, complete daily reports, track units, and evaluate production to meet or exceed goals.
- Mentor crew members for growth and improvement.
- Perform all work tasks safely, maintaining an accident/incident-free environment for all stakeholders.
Qualifications and Prerequisites
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification – Required (training provided by Wayne Brothers).
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification – Required (training provided by Wayne Brothers).
- Competent Person Training for excavation/trenching and confined spaces.
- First Aid CPR Trained.
- Civil Group Pre-requisites for various roles.
- Ability to mentor others into the assistant foreman role.
- Ability to establish and communicate production goals.
- Ability to lead multiple crews.
- Mentor the team for growth, improvement, and morale.
- Ability to train crews on best practices.
- Physical requirements as specified in the addendum.
Skillsets to be Mastered
- Understanding contracted scope of work and tracking extra work.
- Subcontractor coordination and material ordering.
- Project scheduling and planning.
Reporting and Advancement
- Reports to the Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
