Job summary

ZACHRY is hiring a Carpenter Foreman in Roxboro, NC to read blueprints, supervise carpenters, and coordinate day-to-day site activity. You will ensure safety compliance, manage materials, and enforce company and site rules while delivering quality workmanship under tight schedules.

The role requires 4+ years in civil construction, familiarity with building techniques, and reliable transportation to support multi-site operations.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of experience in civil construction.
• Must be able to read blueprints, plans, sketches or building drawings proficiently to perform duties.
• Knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with building techniques.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic operations on a computer.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work full schedule and overtime as needed.
• Must follow safety rules and regulations on site.
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Must have 4+ years working in Civil industry
• Must be able to read blueprints, plans, sketches, or building plans and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
• Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
• Must be able to computer basic arithmetic functions.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed
• Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.

Valued but not required skills, knowledge, and abilities

• Former Zachry employee
• Minimum 2 years industrial Experience
• Training in vocational schools or related to job experience.
• National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
• Experience working with concrete and rebar

Reporting to this position

The position will work closely with and oversee Carpenters and Carpenter helper positions. The position will hold a positional and expertise authority of the Carpenter and Carpenter Helper positions.

Physical Requirements

• Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
