Job summary

Zachry Group seeks an Industrial Journeyman Carpenter to construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal components and concrete forms on industrial projects. You will read blueprints, follow plans, and ensure safety and quality on site.

4+ years of industrial carpentry experience, knowledge of materials and tools, basic arithmetic, and willingness to work overtime are required. NCCER certification is preferred, and candidates must be able to travel on site as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as carpenter or helper on industrial construction projects.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently.
• Knowledge of materials, tools, and basic building techniques.
• Compute basic arithmetic, measure, and cut to specification.
• Willing to work full schedule with overtime as needed.
• Willing to assist other crafts and follow safety rules.

An Industrial Journeyman Carpenter will construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms

Responsibilities

• Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
• Must have all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below).
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have Carpentry experience and experience working on an industrial construction project.
• Must be able and willing to follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must have all required tools.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years working as a carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.
• Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
• Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
• Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
• Must be able to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
• Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
• Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
• Formal/Technical education.
• Experience working with concrete and rebar.

Physical Requirements

• Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
