Job summary

Climate Pros, LLC is seeking a Construction Foreman to serve as the onsite manager for up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians on commercial projects. You will lead safety, progress tracking, JHAs, and mentor crew while coordinating with clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You must have strong reading of drawings, IECC knowledge, and proven HVAC project leadership. This is a hands-on foreman role with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and accuracy in field measurements.

  • Knowledge of IECC and relevant safety codes.
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to enforce site safety.
  • Proven leadership of HVAC installation crews on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onsite HVAC installation teams of up to 10 technicians.
  • Oversee safety, daily and weekly progress, JHAs, inspections and mentoring.
  • Perform material takeoffs and maintain inventory of materials/equipment.
  • Interpret drawings, set up and monitor installation plan, and maintain schedule/budget.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and communicate with client and management.
  • Ensure compliance with codes and project specs.

Job description

The Construction Foreman will be the onsite manager of up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians to include their safety, daily progress, weekly progress, JHAs, spot inspections, guide, lead, teach, mentor, and communicate. They will work closely with the client and deliver all projects within budget and on time. They will work on multiple concurrent projects for one or more commercial retail clients while handling and maintaining all Foreman level responsibilities as well as working alongside their assigned crew.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to accurately perform material takeoffs on a regular frequency.
  • Constantly keep and maintain inventory of onsite material and equipment. As well as be neat and organized.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of skill as it pertains to reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to understand scale, and transfer scale to job site measurements for accuracy in locating major installation start/endpoints.
  • Ability to fabricate Sheetmetal transitions, and offsets "on the fly" to keep progress moving forward.
  • Must be able to set and attain progress goals while being conscious at all times of the overall labor budget.
  • Must demonstrate general knowledge in basic job costing i.e., material cost differences at a chain store vs an actual vendor.
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication with staff and general contractor’s onsite representatives.
  • Ability to create daily progress reports, with specific details and timely submission to project management.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:
  • High level of knowledge as it pertains to reading drawings, reading specifications, installation means, and methods, and understanding IECC as well as code enforcement, and safety.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the trade.
  • Universal EPA, Registration with TDLR, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR certifications are all mandatory.
  • Applicant will be administered a skill assessment which will be used to determine experience and knowledge. Although this will not be used to determine employment, it will serve as a guide for management as it pertains to placement as well as training needs.
  • This is a "hands-on" foreman position.
  • Meaning this position is required to be a working Foreman.
  • Knowledge of all major components as well as installation methods pertaining to but not limited to:
    • RTUs, VAVs, Fan Powered Boxes, Fan Coils, Split Systems, Hydronic Systems, Chillers, Boilers, Piping, Valves, Ducting, Grilles, Registers and Diffusers, Louvers, Damper, Fans, Fire Dampers & Hoods, Roof curbs and caps, Equipment supports and Stands, Condensate and Gas, Stand Alone Controls, Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS/BACnet Controls, Startups & Reporting, Balancing Refrigerant, VRF systems, Heaters, Air Handlers, HVLS Fans, Exhaust Systems, Line Sets, Insulation, Jacketing, Thermometers and Gauges, Filters and Filtration, Transitions and Offsets, Snaplock and Flex

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Regularly required to, stand, and walk; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; noise level is usually high. All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride along with a field technician as part of their employment.
