Job summary

VanKirk Electric, a leading national electrical sub-contractor specializing in multi-family construction across the United States, is seeking a Working Foreman to oversee projects from start to finish. You will manage the project according to the Milestone program and report to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Journeyman's card or Master Electrician status.
• 2+ years of supervisory/foreman experience.
• 5+ years of construction industry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project Manager.
• Review project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standard.
• Follow Project Manager’s Pre-Con documentation, proposals, and plans process.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Attend weekly jobsite coordination meetings with General Contractor.
• Perform quality control for work being performed.
• Communicate with Project Manager regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and Materials.
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate to Project Manager/Regional Team for resolution.
• Maintain Daily log of activities on the jobsite.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment.

Working Foreman oversees all aspects of assigned project from commencement to completion. They manage projects in accordance to the working foreman Milestone program in a manner that exceeds our customer’s expectations and ensures that our work adheres to all company policies, safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. This position reports to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project Manager
• Review project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standard
• Follow Project Manager’s Pre-Con documentation, proposals, and plans process
• The working foreman will maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes
• Generate weekly and monthly material requests
• Attend weekly jobsite coordination meetings with General Contractor
• Perform quality control for work being performed
• Communicate with Project Manager regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and Materials
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate to Project Manager/Regional Team for resolution
• Maintain Daily log of activities on the jobsite

Knowledge and Experience

• Must hold a Journeymen's card or be a Master Electrician
• 2+ Years Supervisory/Foreman experience
• 5+ Years Construction Industry experience
• Ability to review and understand Electrical drawings
• Working knowledge of the N.E.C.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment

Requirements

• College Diploma/Degree, construction management or related field a plus
