Job summary

McCrea Equipment Company, Inc. in Kentucky seeks a Foreman to serve as the primary liaison between McCrea and builders, overseeing new construction HVAC crews and subcontractors.

You will coordinate daily field activities, schedules, materials, and equipment to ensure installations meet plans and company standards. Work closely with Production to resolve field issues and coordinate approved changes, supervise crews, manage deliveries, read layouts, and ensure safety and quality on site.

• Approve time records and monitor job progress, schedules, and field issues.

Hours: 7 AM – 4:30 PM

Willingness to work weekends, as needed, is required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Foreman serves as the primary liaison between McCrea and the builder, overseeing new construction HVAC crews and subcontractors. This position coordinates daily field activities, schedules, materials, and equipment while ensuring installations are completed according to plans and company standards. The Foreman also works closely with Production to address field issues and coordinate approved changes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities below represent the primary duties of this position and are performed in accordance with company procedures, applicable standards, and job requirements.

• Supervise and coordinate new construction HVAC crews, sheet metal punch-out employees, and subcontractors.
• Maintain builder schedules and coordinate daily work assignments, house ordering, and material deliveries.
• Read and interpret HVAC plans and lay out houses for equipment, ductwork, returns, wall caps, fresh air, and other HVAC components.
• Verify equipment and materials against work orders and identify missing or undelivered materials.
• Coordinate rough-in, punch-out, and registers and grilles work and inspect homes throughout the construction process.
• Communicate with builders, subcontractors, trade partners, Production, and Engineering to address field issues and approved plan changes.
• Adjust cut sheets and communicate field changes to Production.
• Track and coordinate the return of eligible leftover materials for credit or restocking.
• Perform and coordinate assigned service calls, complete service tickets, and elevate issues to the Production Manager as needed.
• Approve time records and monitor job progress, schedules, materials, equipment, and field issues.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand HVAC plans and construction drawings.
• Ability to effectively lead, direct, and communicate with team members and subcontractors.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, manage schedules, and coordinate multiple job sites and subcontractors.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements described below are representative of the physical abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, lift, carry, and use hands to handle tools, materials, and equipment. The position requires working at residential construction sites, including unfinished and newly constructed homes, and may involve working on uneven surfaces, ladders, elevated areas, and in confined or limited-access spaces.

The employee must be able to safely lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. The position requires the ability to work in varying hot and cold weather conditions and to safely handle tools, materials, and other objects commonly found on residential construction sites.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment described below is representative of the conditions an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of the position.

Work is primarily performed at residential construction sites and newly constructed homes, including unfinished interior spaces, garages, attics, crawl spaces, basements, and mechanical areas. Employees may work in both indoor and outdoor environments and may be exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, insulation, construction debris, and other materials commonly found on residential construction sites.

Work may occur around other construction trades, tools, equipment, ladders, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and building materials, with occasional exposure to elevated noise levels. Employees are expected to follow all applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
