Job summary

Centuri Construction Group, Inc. invites applications for a Gas Utility Foreman. You will lead field crews, plan work, and ensure safe, on-time project completion while mentoring team members.

The role requires hands-on leadership, experience in gas utilities, and the ability to read blueprints. You’ll coordinate with stakeholders, enforce safety policies, complete reports, and uphold Centuri’s commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year in gas utility industry.
  • 1+ year experience reading plans/blueprints.
  • 1+ year experience leading others.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate crews and equipment to complete jobs safely and on time.
  • Coach and train team on safety and quality.
  • Oversee Dig Safe and coordinate with utilities.
  • Assist crew with equipment operation, pipefitting, and laboring.
  • Complete paperwork and status updates on time.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain Operator Qualifications as required.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by leadership.

As a Gas Utility Foremen, you are a hands-on leader for your crew who takes ownership over coaching, training, and developing others. You will need to understand the big picture to plan the work and execute tasks safely, while completing projects on time.

What You'll Do
  • Plan and coordinate equipment and crews from start to finish ensuring resources are in place and the job is completed safely and on time
  • Coach and train on proper use and process to ensure safety and quality of work
  • Oversee Dig Safe marking and coordinate any issues with utilities
  • Support the crew by operating equipment, pipefitting, and laboring to exhibit teamwork
  • Accurately complete paperwork, reports, and status updates on time
  • Analyze and resolve work problems
  • Maintain all industry required Operator Qualifications
  • Perform other tasks as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year prior experience in gas utility industry
  • 1+ year prior experience readingplans/blueprints to ensure projects meet all building/code requirements
  • 1+ year prior experience leading others

Work Environment
  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Work is performed within the "red zone" of heavy equipment
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Legal Stuff
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
