Job summary

Freyssinet USA, a leader in infrastructure repair and maintenance, seeks a Foreman to oversee field crews across active project sites in Baltimore with travel.

You will ensure safety, quality workmanship, and on-time progress by coordinating labor, materials, and equipment with the Superintendent, while mentoring team members and maintaining clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews in construction or road projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct field crews to complete daily tasks safely, efficiently, and according to project plans.
• Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment needs with the Superintendent.
• Promote a strong jobsite safety culture and enforce safety policies.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project specs; assist with layout and measurements.
• Communicate daily progress and needs to project leadership; coordinate with other trades.
• Assist with basic field documentation such as daily logs and material tracking.

Overview

Freyssinet USA, a leader in specialized civil engineering services focused on infrastructure repair, strengthening, and maintenance, is seeking a skilled and dependable Foreman to support field operations across active project sites.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Daily Operations

• Lead and direct field crews to complete daily tasks safely, efficiently, and according to project plans.
• Assign work, monitor progress, and provide coaching or guidance to crew members.
• Support the Superintendent in coordinating labor, materials, and equipment needs.
• Help maintain a productive work environment with clear expectations and consistent communication.

Safety Oversight

• Promote a strong jobsite safety culture and enforce adherence to company safety policies.
• Conduct or participate in daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and site inspections.
• Identify potential hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or control risks.
• Ensure crew members use proper PPE, follow safe work practices, and comply with regulatory standards.

Quality Control & Workmanship

• Monitor work performed by crews and subcontractors to ensure it meets project specifications and company standards.
• Assist with layout, measurements, and verification of completed work.
• Communicate issues, discrepancies, or resource needs to the Superintendent promptly.
• Support continuous improvement by addressing workmanship or process concerns.

Coordination & Communication

• Work alongside the Superintendent to ensure work activities align with the project schedule.
• Communicate daily progress, challenges, and needs with project leadership.
• Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors, and internal teams as required.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and well managed jobsite.

Documentation & Reporting

• Assist with basic field documentation such as daily logs, attendance, equipment usage, or material tracking.
• Support reporting related to production, safety, or issues affecting project performance.
• Provide accurate information to leadership to support planning and forecasting.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Skills

• Previous experience in construction or field operations, with a background in crew leadership.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and safe work practices.
• Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct crews.
• Ability to read and interpret basic plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing field conditions.
• Minimum experience working in Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) environments and roadway construction projects.
• Proven experience performing concrete repair and restoration work.
• Experience working with structural steel is preferred.
• Welding experience is a strong asset.

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license required.
