Job summary

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department.

Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

• All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the approved discipline.
• Provide instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
• Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
• Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face-to-face, hybrid, online, or dual credit).
• Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
• Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
• Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
• Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion.
• Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
• Be available to students by appointment.
• Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
• Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
• Complete any required training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
