Job summary

Padgett Law Group is seeking a Foreclosure Paralegal to support the litigation workflow in the Memphis office. The role handles daily casework, drafts legal documents, and communicates with clients and attorneys to ensure timely progress and compliance with state and federal requirements.

You will work on-site in Memphis, coordinating with internal teams and maintaining high service levels while supporting the foreclosure department's operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience with client systems such as LPS, Tempo, Vendorscape and others is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrowers, clients, attorneys, and other internal/external parties.

Position Summary

The Foreclosure Paralegal is responsible for executing critical tasks within the litigation process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all clients, state, and federal requirements. This role supports the overall operations of the foreclosure department by handling daily casework, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely file progression. The position plays a key role in maintaining service quality and adhering to performance standards. This will be on-site in our Memphis location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Drafting, preparing, assignments, motions, affidavits, and various other legal documents.
  • Ensuring timely, courteous, and thorough responses to a heavy volume of email correspondence.
  • Developing and maintaining congenial relationships with business associates and clients.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients at every level of interaction.
  • Providing support to attorneys in a high volume, time-sensitive atmosphere.
  • Preparation and filing of status updates prior to scheduled hearing
  • Providing regular and timely client status updates, as well as continual follow-up on outstanding documents and/or services.
  • Review expired Notices of Default and communicate with the client to ensure most updated figures have been received
  • Monitor for executed client declarations
  • File client declarations with the court
  • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
  • Prepares legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by VP, general counsel.
  • Investigates facts and laws to determine causes of action and to prepare case documents accordingly.
  • Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail
  • Prepares affidavits of documents and maintains document file
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Experience with client systems such as LPS, Tempo, Vendorscape and others is preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrower, clients, attorneys, other internal employees, and outside parties.
  • Must be able to work with others in a congenial and team-oriented manner.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills; the position requires the ability to multi-task and be adaptable to continual change.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • High-level proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Proficiency in internet research activities.
  • Good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure preferred
