Job summary

Newrez is seeking a Contested Foreclosure Specialist I to support the Foreclosure Department with litigation-related matters. You will monitor accounts, assist outside counsel, and help maximize recovery in court. Travel may be required.

The role requires strong time management and communication, with proficiency in BKFS/LoanSphere and MS Office. 1–2 years foreclosure experience is preferred, and a bachelor’s degree is welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years direct foreclosure experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases within the foreclosure litigation inventory as assigned by Supervisor.
• Process requests by assigned attorneys for media issues, settlement authority, check requests, etc. to bring a suit to resolution.
• Process discovery, complaint and counterclaim actions as assigned; may include executing documents.
• Provide support to Supervisor and legal department with assigned cases.
• Provide information support to the legal recovery efforts.
• Identify and escalate issues to Supervisor that could create liability or exceed authority.
• Identify trends that could become problematic in future suits.
• Assist on special projects assigned by management.
• Accept special tasks and ensure objectives are met.
• Potential to testify at deposition/trial in person, by phone, or Zoom.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
