Penguin Random House is seeking a Staff/Senior Machine Learning Scientist to lead forecasting across demand, inventory, and supply chain. The role is open to remote work in the U.S.

• 5+ years in applied ML/data science with production model ownership.
• Strong forecasting expertise using time-series methods or Bayesian approaches.
• Proficient in Python or R and SQL; production-quality code.
• Ability to communicate uncertainty and risk to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ML forecasting systems across demand, inventory, and supply chain.
• Develop production-grade evaluation, backtesting, and deployment workflows.
• Build agentic/AI-assisted workflows with measurable quality gates.
• Partner with operations, finance, and marketing to translate needs into roadmaps.
