Job summary

The James Skinner Baking Company is seeking a warehouse associate in Omaha, NE to load product onto reefer trailers and ensure accurate bill of lading information. The role requires operating lift equipment and maintaining inventory records, with emphasis on safety and quality compliance.

Responsibilities include verifying product against paperwork, loading outbound shipments, and supporting production and maintenance activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of equipment operation within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of safe work habits.
  • Experience utilizing material handling systems of inventory maintenance.
  • Must be able to maintain working conditions (safety, quality, cleanliness, & costs)
  • Must be able to assist Lead in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, GMP’s, and instructions.
  • Follow all safety & SQF Food Safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Ensure work area and machine is clean and organized, and free of potential hazards to employees.
  • Practice to maintain safe work environment.
  • Verification that product received from internal and external vendors matches appropriate paperwork and product orders.
  • Load outbound shipments and generate bill of lading information.
  • Support production and maintenance departments in operations requiring product or material movement.
  • Maintain shipping data on the BOL and outbound trailer load sheets.
  • Inspect trailers for condition and cleanliness and document on the inspection log.
  • Check codes and materials to insure proper product is being produced.
  • Ensure product is fit for transport prior to loading.
  • Ensure that inventory is being properly logged and tracked.
  • Report issues, problems and/or observations on a daily basis to Lead/ Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate positive practices with co-workers, providing regular feedback, and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • At the end of shift each person is responsible for general clean up.
  • The employee understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for loading The James Skinner Baking Company’s food products onto reefer trailers. There are a range of duties in this job description.

Duties and Rsponsibilities

Skills and Experience

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Experience operating various lift equipment including Forklifts (both sit down and standup preferred), reach trucks, and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Understanding of both inbound and outbound verification practices.
  • Understanding of tractor trailer inspection practices.
  • Ability to manually verify inbound product against vendor picklist.
  • Ability to accurately create manual and automated Bills of Lading for outbound shipments.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • A proven track record of safe work habits and a commitment to the safety of those around you.
