Job description

Racing is where our story began.

In 1901, Henry Ford climbed into a car he built himself—"Sweepstakes"—and beat America’s most famous driver. He wasn’t a racer, but he had to win. He did. Ford Motor Company was born from that victory.

That fighting spirit lives on in Ford Racing today. We’re the engineers, strategists, and competitors who bring Ford's track-tested edge into every vehicle we build. Every track, every stage, every proving ground—that’s where we prove ourselves.

The result: one of the world's most iconic brands, legendary nameplates, and a team unmatched in the industry.

Our mantra: Race to win, engineer to lead.

If you're a competitor, innovator, or performance obsessive, Ford Racing is where you belong. Help us write the next chapter.

In this position...

As a Vehicle Integration Engineer within Ford Racing's Vehicle Engineering team, you'll lead the end-to-end vehicle development, testing, and validation of future Ford Racing products—ensuring technical excellence and an emotive customer experience. You'll translate customer insights into balanced, vehicle-level requirements and drive cross-functional teams through the milestones, testing, and validation needed to deliver segment-defining performance vehicles.

What you'll do...
  • Lead Design Confirmation Vehicle (DCV) development and launch activities for Ford Racing programs, ensuring all engineering gateways and milestones are met with high quality and efficiency.

  • Translate customer insights into balanced vehicle-level requirements and cascade them into system-level targets, managing technical tradeoffs across cross-functional teams to preserve "emotional delight" features.

  • Oversee the lifecycle of test vehicles, including hardware/software maturity tracking and "Fit for Test" certification, while optimizing testing processes to improve Design Validation (DV) efficiency.

  • Direct Track and Off-Road Durability testing, including resource planning, logistics, and safety, ensuring events are financially responsible and productive.

  • Lead final validation of vehicle emotive experiences, including assessment and preparation of media vehicles for flawless external representation.

You’ll have...
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering degree.

  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in Vehicle Engineering, Product Development, or a related automotive engineering role.

  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in solving complex technical issues while building strong professional relationships.

  • Experience in vehicle testing and validation, including the ability to assess "Fit for Test" status for hardware and software.

  • Experience managing engineering milestones, gateways, and program documentation within a formal product development system (e.g., GPDS).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to translate complex technical tradeoffs into customer-focused insights for executive and multi-departmental audiences.

Even better, you may have...
  • 5+ years of vehicle-level automotive product development experience across a wide range of attributes.

  • Proven track record delivering complete automotive product development cycles from initial concept through launch.

  • Experience with modern software development processes, Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, and feature delivery alongside traditional mechanical systems.

  • A clear, practical understanding of performance vehicle customers their passions, pain points, needs, and priorities backed by customer insight tools.

  • Outstanding self-motivation and initiative, with an "early tech adopter" mindset.

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage

  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more

  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more

  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases

  • Tuition assistance

  • Established and active employee resource groups

  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day
