Job description

Ford Racing Features & Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Supervisor

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

Racing is where our story began.

In 1901, Henry Ford climbed into a car he built himself—'Sweepstakes'—and beat America's most famous driver. He wasn't a racer, but he had to win. He did. Ford Motor Company was born from that victory.

That fighting spirit lives on in Ford Racing today. We're the engineers, strategists, and competitors who bring Ford's track-tested edge into every vehicle we build. Every track, every stage, every proving ground—that's where we prove ourselves.

The result: one of the world's most iconic brands, legendary nameplates, and a team unmatched in the industry.

Our mantra: Race to win, engineer to lead.

If you're a competitor, innovator, or performance obsessive, Ford Racing is where you belong. Help us write the next chapter.

In this position...

Are you a dedicated and self-motivated individual with a passion for Ford Racing and our customer experiences?

Do you have the endurance to problem solve through the grueling desert terrain or the racetrack in the middle of summer?

Are you prepared to lead our next generation features & HMI developments on our journey to Own Off-Road & WIN on the Track?

What you'll do...
  • Conceptualize and develop 'first-of-its-kind' mechatronic and software features (including advanced HMI) for the next generation of Ford Racing vehicles.
  • Supervise, grow, and empower a highly talented team of mechatronic and software engineers. Manage project allocation, technical coaching, and performance while fostering a high-performing team culture.
  • Take rough concepts from the whiteboard to 'Ready for Production.' Oversee the development of mechanical, electrical, and software components, utilizing both virtual (CAE) and physical prototyping. Guide the team in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and software development practices (Python, C++, Gherkin). Oversee feature verification, functional safety, Failure Mode Avoidance, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Partner closely with Digital Products & Design (DPD), Research & Advanced Engineering, and downstream vehicle/software teams to ensure features meet the unique DNA of Ford Racing products.
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point for technical roadblocks. Lead trade-off discussions, negotiate balanced solutions to challenging requirements, and represent the Ford Racing domain in program-level decisions.
  • Leverage connected vehicle data and advanced analytics to deeply understand driver/customer needs and guide the team's feature priorities.
You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, experience with evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant Features &/or HMI experience
  • 2+ years of Feature/HMI Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Highly collaborative mindset and strong technical skills
Even better, you may have...
  • Experience with both Track-capable and Off-Road Features & HMI systems
  • A proven mentor, with published training/testimonials from mentees
  • Tier 2+ Drivers training

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company,

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more

  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day
