Job description

Racing is where our story began.

In 1901, Henry Ford climbed into a car he built himself—'Sweepstakes'—and beat America's most famous driver. He wasn't a racer, but he had to win. He did. Ford Motor Company was born from that victory.

That fighting spirit lives on in Ford Racing today. We're the engineers, strategists, and competitors who bring Ford's track-tested edge into every vehicle we build. Every track, every stage, every proving ground—that's where we prove ourselves.

The result: one of the world's most iconic brands, legendary nameplates, and a team unmatched in the industry.

Our mantra: Race to win, engineer to lead.

If you're a competitor, innovator, or performance obsessive, Ford Racing is where you belong. Help us write the next chapter.

In this position...

The Powertrain Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist serves as the vital operational bridge connecting Ford Racing’s engineering objectives with the global supply base. In this role, you drive the end-to-end procurement and integration of mission-critical powertrain goods and services, ensuring race-ready components are available precisely when needed against the Bill of Materials. By harmonizing the voices of Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and external suppliers, you mitigate supply chain risks, enforce strict configuration change controls, and elevate supplier performance through proactive KPI management and hands-on operational support. Ultimately, your work protects program timelines, stabilizes critical material pipelines, and directly powers the competitive edge and podium success of Ford’s motorsport programs.

This role is hybrid and requires at least 4 days per week onsite in Allen Park, MI.

What you'll do...

  • Serve as the cross-functional team specialist responsible to all Powertrain programs for the timely and successful procurement and MP&L coordination of goods and services, necessitating the successful integration of suppliers into Ford Racing Powertrain ecosystem, and ensuring operational requirements are met.
  • Proactively identify potential operational gaps and provide communication and risk assessments as needed to elevate issues and potential solutions to leadership.
  • Act as the liaison between the supplier, Engineering customer, Quality and Purchasing, to ensure the ‘voice of the business’ is harmonized into procurement.
  • Develop and utilize KPIs to rate Suppliers based on their service level and Quality.
  • Identify and standardize procedure(s) for security/system access needs.
  • Provide support and training together with Quality Personnel to distressed suppliers.
  • Develop and manage purchasing workflow ensuring configuration change control and all supplier requirements throughout supply chain lifecycle.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

You’ll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or Business.
  • 2+ years in managing the complete supply chain lifecycle, with demonstrated proficiency in forecasting, scheduling, supplier performance and ensuring the timely availability of materials based on the Bill of Materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to lead and facilitate discussions amongst cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP inventory control.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management or business.
  • Direct expertise in motorsports or a high-performance racing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in a demanding, high-stakes environment.
  • Prior Lean Experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Process-oriented mindset.

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
  • Paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more.
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments and more.
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases.
  • Tuition assistance.
  • Established and active employee resource groups.
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service.
  • Generous vacation time, sick/personal time, and paid holidays, including between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.
