Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a senior engineering leader for Ford Racing to oversee builds, launches, and quality plans for internal and external suppliers to deliver high-quality Mustangs and race-inspired products.

You will manage a team of engineers across plant vehicle programs, prototype builds, and supplier technical assistance, ensuring on-time milestones and post-launch quality reviews. This role is hybrid with onsite four days a week in Allen Park, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 15 years experience in product vehicle engineering and plant launches
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute of DCV builds.
• Lead the Ford Racing Production Vehicle Launches for all prebuilds TT to OKTB.
• Coordinate delivery of all Product Development Metric on Launch Score Card.
• Co-Lead the Launch Jira / issues resolution process.
• Coordinate carry-over issues with PVT Managers during launch.
• Lead the PPAP Metrics with Ford Racing Production Vehicle STA Engineer.
• Support the Ford Racing Production Vehicle Body Exterior team in PIST & Fit to Nominal execution to launch standards.
• Quality from planning to DCV checkpoint to in-plant launch phases through OKTB.
• Lead the Vehicle Quality Reviews for Ford Racing monthly at VO plants, including weekly QPSTs and monthly Chief Quality Reviews.
• Report on quality status weekly with daily claims and engage in monthly roadmap with internal and external teams.
• Must be able to support in-plant launch activities and supplier visits out of state / internationally (Canada).

In this position

• Technical leader in Ford Performance to lead the builds and launch and quality plans for both internal and external suppliers to deliver high quality high performance Mustangs
• Manage team of engineers covering the Plant Vehicle Teams, prototype build and supplier technical assistance.
• Responsible for efficient and timely execution of prototypes for metrics of cost and engineering resources.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the Vehicle Quality Reviews for Ford Racing monthly at VO plants, along with lead vehicle line discussion in Ford Racing’s weekly QPSTs and monthly Chief Quality Reviews.
• Report on quality status weekly with daily claims, engage in the monthly roadmap and engage internal Ford Racing Production Vehicle engineers & peers along with external engineering teams to deliver the overall quality targets.
• Must have the ability to support in plant launch activities and supplier visits out of the state/ internationally (Canada).

You’ll have

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 15 years experience in product vehicle engineering and plant launches
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Even better, you may have

• Engineering Masters of Science degree or higher
• Working understanding of Functional requirements, failure mode effects, causes, severity and detection methods (DFMEAs)
• Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
