Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Engineer in Ford Racing to lead DCV builds, launches and quality plans for internal and external suppliers, delivering high quality high performance Mustangs. You will drive cross-functional execution and ensure milestones are met in a fast-paced racing environment.

You will manage a team of engineers across Plant Vehicle Teams and prototypes, coordinate launch metrics, drive PPAP and quality reviews, and travel as needed to Ford and supplier sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 15 years experience in product vehicle engineering and plant launches
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee builds and launches and quality plans for internal and external suppliers ensuring high quality, high performance vehicles.
• Manage team of engineers covering Plant Vehicle Teams, prototype build and supplier technical assistance.
• Ensure efficient and timely execution of prototypes for metrics of cost and engineering resources.
• Lead the DCV builds and Ford Racing Production Vehicle Launches for all prebuilds TT to OKTB.
• Coordinate delivery of all Product Development Metrics on Launch Score Card; co-lead the Launch Jira / issues resolution process.
• Coordinate carry-over issues with PVT Managers during launch; lead the PPAP Metrics with Ford Racing Production Vehicle STA Engineer.
• Support the Ford Racing Production Vehicle Body Exterior team in PIST & Fit to Nominal execution to launch standards.
• Quality management from planning to DCV checkpoint to in-plant launch phases through OKTB; continue owning product quality post-OKTB.
• Lead Vehicle Quality Reviews for Ford Racing monthly at VO plants, participate in weekly QPSTs and monthly Chief Quality Reviews.
• Report on quality status weekly with daily claims; participate in monthly roadmap reviews with internal Ford Racing engineers & peers and external teams.
• Must be able to support in-plant launch activities and supplier visits out of state / internationally (Canada).

In this position...

• Technical leader in Ford Performance to lead the builds and launch and quality plans for both internal and external suppliers to deliver high quality high performance Mustangs

• Must have the ability to support in plant launch activities and supplier visits out of the state/ internationally (Canada).

You’ll have...

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 15 years experience in product vehicle engineering and plant launches
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Even better, you may have...

• Engineering Masters of Science degree or higher
• Working understanding of Functional requirements, failure mode effects, causes, severity and detection methods (DFMEAs)
• Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
