Job summary

Ford Racing is seeking an experienced interior IP design and release engineer. You will lead the design, release, and delivery of interior components for a high-performance vehicle program, coordinating with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to meet program milestones.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with 5–8+ years in IP design, strong CAD/tool experience, and familiarity with GPDS processes. Hybrid work setup with onsite collaboration four days a week is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in Body Interior IP design & release, including delivering a completed program.
  • 3–5+ years of experience using CAD or visualization tools.
  • Understanding of GPDS and program delivery processes.
  • Experience launching products is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, release, and delivery of interior components for Ford Racing.
  • Manage QCWFT to support milestones.
  • Lead suppliers and internal resources to deliver programs.
  • Manage design/studio interfaces to meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure conformance to Ford Racing DNA and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop innovative solutions for high-performance vehicles.
  • Support issue resolution and design changes during prototype builds.
  • Coordinate with Core Body Interior Engineering Organization.

Job description

In this position... You will be responsible for the design and release of multiple interior products on the most exciting vehicles Ford Racing produces. You will manage multiple cross functional relationships both internally and externally to help ensure the successful launch of the next generation, segment defining products.

What you'll do...
  • Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across multiple interior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program
  • Manage Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT) to support program & engineering GPDS milestones
  • Lead FSS (Full-Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject program
  • Manage design and color/material studio interfaces to deliver to customer expectations
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA and all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions for high-performance vehicles and our enthusiast customers
  • Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Interior Engineering Organization
You’ll have...
  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required
  • 5-8+ Years of experience in Body Interior Instrument Panel (IP) Design & Release, including delivery of 1 completed program
  • 3-5+ Years of experience using CAD or other visualization tools
  • Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS
  • Working knowledge of 3DX, Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, CATIA, DFMEA, FEDE, FEDEBOM, WERS
  • Fabrication/mockup skills to demonstrate proof of concept
  • Independent self-starter that can connect analytical tools with physical hardware and vehicle performance
  • Passion for performance vehicles
  • Launch experience preferred

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
