Job summary

Ford Racing is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design, release, and delivery of exterior components for a high-performance model program. You will manage cross-functional relationships to ensure timely launches, while conforming to Ford Racing DNA and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with 3–5+ years in body castings design & release, plus CAD tool experience. Hybrid onsite work and collaboration with suppliers are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required
  • 3-5+ Years of experience in Body Castings Design & Release
  • Body structures or closures D&R experience may also be considered
  • 2+ Year of experience using CAD or other visualization tools
  • Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS
  • Hands-on experience with high-pressure die casting or other casting processes (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across exterior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program
  • Manage Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT) to support program & engineering GPDS milestones
  • Lead FSS and/or other internal/external resources to deliver the project
  • Manage design and color/material studio interfaces to deliver to customer expectations
  • Assure conformance to Ford Racing DNA and all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions for high performance vehicles and enthusiasts
  • Support issue resolution and design change management during prototype build and launch builds
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Engineering Organization

Job description

In this position you will be responsible for the design and release of multiple exterior products on the most exciting vehicles Ford Racing produces. You will manage multiple cross functional relationships both internally and externally to help ensure the successful launch of the next generation, segment defining products.

What you'll do...
  • Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across multiple exterior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program

  • Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
