Job summary

Serra Ford Farmington Hills is seeking a versatile Ford Certified Service Technician to join our fast-paced service department. The ideal candidate will perform general repairs across engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC and more, ensuring quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

You will test-drive, diagnose issues with manufacturer tools, and complete work orders per Ford standards while maintaining a clean, organized shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years experience as a general automotive technician.
• Broad knowledge of all vehicle systems and ability to perform multiple types of repairs.
• Ability to read and follow service manuals, instructions, and diagnostic information.

Responsibilities

• Perform general automotive repairs efficiently and accurately across engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, steering, and other systems.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and manufacturer service equipment.
• Complete work orders according to dealership and Ford service standards.
• Communicate directly with Service Advisors to update customers on additional services and repair timelines.
• Execute warranty and standard repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure customer vehicles are returned in excellent condition.
