Job summary

MSA Safety in Auburn, ME is hiring a Production Worker Level 4 to support our footwear stitching operations. You will operate industrial sewing machines, read production tags, and follow instructions to ensure quality while meeting daily production goals.

Responsibilities include material preparation, handling programmable machinery, and performing various sewing and non-sewing tasks. A 1st shift with start at 5:00 am, 8-hour shifts, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 months minimum of sewing machine / stitching operation.
• Able to read, write and speak basic English.
• Background check, drug screen and pre-employment physicals is required.
• Must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours, stand/walk for a full shift for non-sewing operations, lift 1–25 pounds, and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch leather footwear.
• Read, interpret and follow production tags and instructions.
• Measure with rulers and follow measurements.
• Support department by learning at least two additional operations.
• May perform prep, lasting, inspection, finishing, and other non-sewing tasks.
• Perform material preparation and operate programmable machinery as needed.
