The Scarsdale Public Schools are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual who exhibits a love of learning and a genuine interest in the social, emotional, mental, and physical health of student-athletes. Applicants should demonstrate expert content knowledge and success in coaching their respective sport at the high school level. An ideal candidate will understand the benefits of an educational interscholastic athletic experience with a focus on player growth and development. NYS certification in physical education or coaching license is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist in the organization and supervision of a football program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in football.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, with a willingness to examine new theories and procedures.
• Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.

Reports To

The Athletic Director and Varsity Head Football Coach.

Job Goal

To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to promote individual and team success, while fostering character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride. Continuous professional development through coaching clinics, observations, and consultation is encouraged.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Implement athletic policies approved by the Scarsdale Public Schools' Board of Education.
• Ensure compliance with existing system, state, and league regulations.
• Assist the Head Coach in preparing for scheduled sport events or practices and adhere to facility schedules.
• Mentor athletes to develop trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Monitor student grades and conduct.
• Follow procedures for injuries, medical attention, and emergencies.
• Manage equipment and instill respect for school property.
