Job summary

The Yorktown Central School District is seeking an Assistant Head Coach for Freshman Football to support the Head Coach and guide student athletes toward higher skill levels and teamwork.

Under Head Coach supervision, you will implement athletic policies, supervise practices and games, and ensure safety and sportsmanship. The role requires NYSED certification or equivalent teaching credential with CPR/First Aid and Concussion training. Immediate vacancy.

Qualifications

• NYSED Coach Certification or Certified Teacher with CPR, First Aid and Concussion Certification.
• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and ongoing study of new theories/procedures.
• Must be a role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Follows district athletic policies and procedures.
• Implements state and league regulations and interprets them for staff.
• Maintains proper administrative lines of command and attends required meetings.
• Continuously examines new theories and procedures in the field.
• Assist in planning and conducting practices and games.
• Travel with student athletes on team trips and enforce fundraising policies.
• Uphold discipline policies and promote sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
• Maintain student records with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Represent the school and district positively in interactions with community and media.
