Job summary

Yorktown Central School District is seeking an Assistant Head Coach to support the Head Coach, guide student athletes, and promote discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork. You will help run practices, supervise events, and model professional behavior for a positive team culture throughout the season.

The role requires coaching credentials, a strong knowledge of the sport, and the ability to work within district policies while ensuring safety and development of student athletes.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYSED Coach Certification or certified teaching credential with CPR, First Aid and Concussion Certification.
• Proven ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and willingness to update theories.

Responsibilities

• Follows district policies and procedures.
• Assists instruction and demonstrates skills for individual and team achievement.
• Plans and sets up activities, practices and games.
• Travels with student athletes on team bus to games.
• Enforces fundraising and district financial policies.
• Maintains safe environment and locker room supervision.
• Interacts professionally with students, staff and parents.
