Role Description

The Nurse Practitioner is a part to full-time, on-site role based in Rochester, MN. This role involves performing comprehensive foot and lower extremity assessments, diagnosing common toenail/callus/wart conditions, and developing individualized care plans. The Nurse Practitioner will provide treatments such as nail and callus care, nonsurgical ingrown toenail treatment (Onyfix), nail reconstruction (Keryflex), Swift microwave therapy for wart eradication, potential wound evaluation, and patient education on foot health, footwear, and risk prevention. Training will be provided in a variety of formats. Daily responsibilities include documenting clinical findings, monitoring treatment outcomes, and adjusting interventions as needed. The role also includes supporting quality improvement initiatives, adhering to infection control and safety standards, and participating in patient follow-up.


Qualifications


  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Minnesota and national certification as an NP.

  • Clinical interest in podiatry care, orthopedics, or related fields, with strong assessment, patient communication and diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to learn foot care procedures safely, including nail and skin care, basic wound care, and offloading strategies. Training will be provided.

  • Strong patient education and communication skills, with the ability to explain care plans clearly and support behavior change.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

  • Solid documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills, with attention to accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, infection prevention, and adherence to clinic protocols and safety standards.

  • Organizational and time-management skills to manage a full patient schedule and prioritize care needs effectively.

  • Comfort working with diverse patient populations, including older adults and individuals with diabetes, vascular disease, or mobility challenges.

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalent NP preparation; prior outpatient clinic experience is preferred.
