Job summary

SFE- Southwest Foodservice Excellence in Germantown, TN is hiring a full-time Food Service Worker Floater to support multiple school sites. You will prepare and serve meals, maintain clean kitchens, and deliver friendly service wherever coverage is needed.

As a floater, you’ll travel between sites, adapt to different environments, and work closely with kitchen teams to keep operations running smoothly. Reliable transportation and a positive attitude are essential in this fast-paced school

Qualifications

• Previous food service or cleaning experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation to travel between locations daily.
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needs.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprint screening and MVR.
• Enjoys working around children and being part of a school community.
• Respectful, inclusive, and able to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Travel between school sites as scheduled to assist with daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and safe.
• Restock serving areas such as food lines, salad bars, and milk boxes.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries using FIFO practices.
• Serve meals to students, staff, and guests with a positive attitude.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• Follow all health and safety regulations at each site.
• Step in to support kitchen teams or cover absences.
• Submit reports and complete assigned tasks on time.
• Take direction from Kitchen Managers and adjust quickly to new team dynamics.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Must be able to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Frequent bending, reaching, walking, and use of hands
• Varying kitchen environments with moderate noise levels
• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks
• Must be able to drive between school sites and attend company meetings as needed
