Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Foodservice Worker to perform a variety of tasks in the hospital foodservice area, including preparation, packaging, and deliveries. You will clean and sanitize areas, record temperatures, and manage food storage while ensuring accuracy with patient meal tickets and dating.

This flex per diem position offers hours as needed with no benefits, and shifts will vary based on department staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with food handling preferred.
• Reads and interprets patient meal tickets, identifiers, recipes, ingredients, labels and dating.
• Flex per diem hours; non-benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform various tasks in the foodservice area including food preparation, packaging, and deliveries.
• Clean and sanitize food service areas as required by management and regulatory agencies.
• Take and record temperatures of food and storage areas.
• Place food trays over warmers or store in refrigerated storage cabinets.
• Weigh or measure ingredients and receive/store supplies.
• May handle cash depending on needs.
• Read patient meal tickets and confirm identifiers and dating.

Job description

• Foodservice Workers will be assigned to perform various tasks within the foodservice area.
• This may include but is not limited to food preparation, packaging, and deliveries.
• Cleans and sanitizes any and all food service areas as required by management and regulatory agencies.
• Takes and records temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers.
• Places food trays over food warmers for immediate service or stores them in refrigerated storage cabinets.
• Weighs or measures ingredients.
• Receives and stores food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
• May handle cash depending on needs.
• Read and interpret patient meal tickets, read and confirm patient identifiers, recipes, ingredients, labels and dating.
