Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is hiring for a Cafeteria Food Service Worker. You will assemble, portion, label, and restock foods, provide hospitable service, and maintain sanitation.

You will also perform warewashing and support training of other staff as needed. Responsibilities include preparing serving areas, setting up steam tables, taking temperatures, stocking items, and assisting with special events.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read, write and speak English.
• Understands basic weights and measures.
• Understands basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to stoop and lift 30 pounds and push and pull 300 pounds.
• Employees must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Prepares area for food serving. Sets up steam tables and service areas with hot food items, salads, desserts, fruits, breakfast foods.
• Serves food in prescribed quantities according to food service standards.
• Takes temperatures before and during meal service.
• Informs production if a menu item is running low.
• Stocks cold supply before, during and after each meal service.
