OVERVIEW

As a Customer Account Specialist (CAS), you will drive incremental volume growth and sustain existing volume by owning relationships with operators and selling company product lines across our K12, Colleges & Universities, Healthcare, Commercial, and other Non-Commercial channels. The Region of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana team is looking for a CAS in the Kentucky geography.

You will work closely with the Account Executives (Distributor Managers) and communicate regularly with CAS peers while providing expertise to your customers regarding our products, competitors, and other industry knowledge. You will also leverage sales tools and analyze internal reporting to strategically plan daily activities to identify new business opportunities. You will support critical distributor and industry events (i.e. Food Shows, Distributor Sales Meetings, etc).

Strong candidates will demonstrate a sense of drive and urgency to close sales for the region's operator business and the ability to work closely with Account Executives in the territory. Building relationships with key operators; proactively and pursuing opportunities with operators; closing sales and delivering incremental volume growth; strong written & verbal communication skills; ability to work on a team and independently.

In this role, you will have exposure to an experienced General Mills Region Manager & Account Executives to guide in your development; best in class tools and technology to help you be successful; a peer group for support; a myriad of foodservice operators as customers; and distributor selling teams. High performance in role can open future opportunities to move up in the organization. Candidate will acquire valuable skills and experience. The role will have a very strong support system for a cohesive, high performing team of experienced Account Executives.

The role is in Kentucky, and preferable locations are in Middle Kentucky.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Sustain and drive incremental volume

  • Identify and sell General Mills foodservice products to key operators across territory to grow Region volume.
  • Collaborate with the Region's Account Executives to create pull-through demand for core gaps and innovation.
  • Work closely with distributors to train on our products that fit in commercial to obtain leads.

Leverage Analytics and tools (i.e. Salesforce, Tableau) to identify and close on new opportunities

  • Develop strategic geographic call patterns to maximize call coverage (16 calls per week and deliver on assigned volume goal).
  • Develop and leverage local operator opportunities (product and promotion).

Other Accountabilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute a strategic call pattern that maximizes your sales call coverage (minimum of 16 in-person sales calls per week).
  • Demonstrate product knowledge to operators through at-home and on-site sample preparation and baking across all product platforms.
  • Support critical distributor and industry events including Industry Expos, Distributor Food Shows, Distributor Sales Meetings, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma.
  • 2+ years of Foodservice Sales experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and win as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with ability to maintain workload from a remote office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree.

  • Working knowledge of the territory.

The salary range for this position is $70,100.00 - $105,200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
