Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Food and Nutrition Services Lead.

As a Food and Nutrition Services Lead at MercyOne, you will perform a variety of tasks for patients and cafeteria customers related to the service of food such as working in areas, taking phone calls, passing patient trays, washing dishes, restocking supplies, and setting up and taking down catering functions. Lead the department to efficiently process orders and is responsible for the kitchen in the absence of a manager. Leads the food service team to complete tasks with minimal error and in a timely manner. Follows and maintains good sanitation and safety procedures in work areas.

  • Performs cook and food service worker duties.
  • Contributes to staff performance evaluation.
  • Assists supervisor in overseeing daily operations of the department,
  • Trains staff.

Schedule:

  • Varies; but mostly 10:30 am - 7:00 pm. Weekend and holiday rotation.

General Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with large quantity cooking/baking
  • Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
  • Serv safe certificate preferred.
  • Basic language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to follow recipes.
  • Ability to work as a team and interact politely with all customers and peers.

Education:

  • High School diploma preferred but not required.
