Job summary

Worship Center is seeking a Food Services Team Lead to support the Food Services and Main Street Café teams under the Food Services Manager. You will supervise cafe operations, train staff and volunteers, and ensure top-quality food, safety, and guest service.

The role is full-time (28–32 hours/wk) with benefits, including varied days/evenings and some Saturdays, and every other Sunday involvement. Serve in a faith-based community with a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum High School graduate.
• Experience: Previous hospitality/food service experience and one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• License/Certification: SERVSafe Certification and valid PA Driver’s License.
• Specific Abilities: Excellent written, oral, and computer skills desired. Applicants must be able to handle a fast-paced and changing environment with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of Food Safety Standards and Best Practices, meeting the highest standards of workplace sanitation/equipment care and safety as set by Health Department and WC policies.
• Assign tasks and assist the Food Service Manager with overseeing the preparation and production of all café food items and catered events. Ensure the highest quality control with plate presentation, monitor efficiency and production, the creation and delivery of attractive food displays, and the execution of events.
• Discuss production priorities, suggestions for improvement, and new ideas with the manager. Assist with developing menu items and offering local and seasonal specialties for holidays, events, and promotions.
• Assist in maintaining food cost goals by monitoring waste, proper storage, and product handling. (FIFO) Ensure items are labeled, dated, rotated, and stored properly.
• Take inventory and place orders and necessary for the café.
• Provides support to the recruitment and training of volunteers for both the weekday and weekend cafes, as well as catered events. Manage volunteer team. Schedule onboard.
• Provide ongoing coaching and recognition to affirm the team.
• Settle cash registers and handle deposits for Main Street and Student Ministries cafes. Deliver the register contents to finance.
• Maintain role model standards in grooming, professional appearance, communication, and guest services.
• Manage Main Street Café’s social media.

The Food Services Team Lead serves staff and volunteers of Food Services and Main Street Café under the direction of the Food Services Manager.This person supports the ministry of Worship Center by providing quality food products and maintaining a safe, efficient, professional, sanitary, and profitable kitchen. The Food Services Team Lead reports to the Food Services Manager.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt position, 28-32 hours weekly, with benefits.Varied hours include days, evenings, and some Saturdays. Every other Sunday is required.
