Job summary

Compass Connections is seeking a Food Services Assistant to support the Food Services Department and assist the Food Services Supervisor, ensuring meals are prepared according to approved menus and policy. You may function as supervisor in their absence.

Maintain sanitary kitchen conditions, weigh and measure ingredients, operate equipment, report malfunctions, and follow safety protocols. Expect to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed while providing excellent service and maintaining

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred Associate degree from an accredited program.
  • First Aid CPR Emergency Behavior Intervention certifications.
  • Six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Food Services Department and assist the Food Services Supervisor to ensure all meals are implemented per policy.
  • Function as the Food Services Supervisor in the supervisor's absence.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in work and food service areas that meet licensing and policy requirements.
  • Operate kitchen equipment and report any malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Weigh and measure ingredients to produce a standard food product.
  • Maintain knowledge of materials and equipment used in food preparation and cooking.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Follow dress code and professional standards; maintain inventory and prepare food using approved menus.

Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economiccharacteristics.B. Provide excellent customer service, organizational, and planning skills.C. Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene.D. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.E. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.F.
