Job description

The purpose of this position is to assist the Qdoba location on campus by working as a Food Service Worker.

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Essential Functions :

  • Interacts with customers in the serving and dining areas.
  • Provides attentive and responsive customer service.
  • Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register and follows all cash handling procedures as required.
  • May be required to prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area).
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment.
  • Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility :

  • Registers (Adhere by all cash handling responsibilities)
  • Standard Kitchen Equipment-Slicers, Dicers, Ovens, etc.)-Responsible for making sure proper protection equipment is worn when necessary
  • Knives (Adhere by safety policy for using and cleaning knives)

Qualifications :

  • Willingness to be open to learning and growing.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Must have a Maricopa County Food Handler's Card and non-slip shoes.
  • Prior customer service and / or food service experience is a plus.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment :

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
