Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Part-time Food Service Operations Rep for the Evening shift (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with every other weekend). The role involves assembling, preparing, serving, and delivering meals to patients and staff, and supporting the Food Services department with sanitation and customer requests.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and strong communication skills; Spanish language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have or be pursuing high school diploma or equivalent four years of work-related experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and courteously via telephone, in person or in writing.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write simple and moderately complex instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish is desired.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions.
• Ability to use common sense in carrying out written and oral instructions and solving problems.
• Ability to use kitchen, trayline and warewashing equipment.

Position Purpose

The Food Service Operations Rep performs duties for the hospital’s Food Services Department. As a “Food Service Operations Rep” you will: Assemble, prepare, serve, and deliver trays, meals, and nourishments to patients, floors and other customers or clients. Attends to patient, nursing and/or other customer food service and related requests, needs or requirements in a friendly, cheerful, patient and customer-focused manner. Pay Range

• Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.42 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
