Yona is looking for a Manager in Training (MIT) for Food Services to join our team! The MIT will learn to assist with organizing, planning, directing, controlling, and supervising functions within the dietary department, which provides food and nutrition services to residents in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Food Services Director in leading quality dining programs that enhance the residents' meal experience
  • Ensure dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Train staff in procedures and proper operation of equipment
  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance
  • Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate service levels
  • Maintain records including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel files
  • Manage a cost-effective program within budget
  • Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and community departments
  • Participate in facility meetings and committees
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Promote professional growth within the team
  • Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections
  • Report on initiatives, goals, and accomplishments
  • Monitor and promote resident satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of food service operations
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's or higher degree in food service management, hospitality, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Food service supervisory experience, at least two years in long-term care preferred
  • ServSafe Certification for Managers
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM, CFPP)
  • Skilled in motivating and supervising staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet goals
  • Public speaking skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
