Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Health is seeking a Food Services Associate (Dietary) to support patient meals and customer nourishment. The role includes opening/closing responsibilities, dishwashing, cashier duties, and maintaining the salad bar area, with a variable shift and every-other-weekend rotation.

The position operates within the Dietary department, with a 40-hour work week, and shifts may start early in the morning. Prior patient experience and a Serve Safe certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Previous patient experience preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: Serve Safe certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follows HACCP food handling and records temperatures.
• Operate kitchen utensils and equipment including slicers, mixers, grinders, grill, toaster, cash register, processors, and frappe machine.
• Ensure foods meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of cooking equipment and utensils.
• Alert supervisor to problems concerning equipment and supplies; report spoiled or unattractive food.
• Use FIFO standards when utilizing food supplies.

This is a Full-Time position reporting to the Dietary Supervisors Jobs include but no limited to Tray Passing, Dish room, Pots, Deli, Tray Production Line.

Elliot - Food Services Associate - Dietary - Full Time

40 hours per week, variable shift and schedule, every other weekend rotation.

Department operates between the hours of 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM.

SCHEDULE: Variable schedule with every other weekend rotation, variable shift between the hours of 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM

About the Job:

The Food Services Associate performs a variety of duties relating to the provision of meals and nourishment for patients and customers. This will include participation in opening and closing responsibilities, performing general routine (including dishwashing) and non-routine cleaning duties, cashiering responsibilities as assigned, as well as setting up and maintaining the salad bar area, communicating with Supervisor for additional items to be prepped.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain a clean and organized work area. Responsible for meeting Manchester Board of Health, Stage, and TJC standards.

• Follows proper food handling techniques using HACCP standards. Record food and food storage temperatures as required. Ensure that all required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process.

• Use a variety of kitchen utensils and food service production equipment including slicers, mixers, blenders, grill, toaster, cash register, processors, and frappe machine.

• Ensure that all foods prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.

• Ensure that all cooking equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.

• Alert supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detect and report spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, equipment or other unusual conditions.

• Use FIFO standards when utilizing food supplies.
