Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a patient food service worker to assist with preparing and delivering meals to patients in a hospital setting. You will participate in trayline setup, serve meals, monitor temperatures, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are maintained.

Responsibilities include loading trays, delivering to nursing stations, cleaning dishes, and keeping work areas orderly. Prior experience in food service is helpful, and adherence to HACCP guidelines is required.

• Serve patient meals on trayline and assist with setup and service.
• Log hot and cold food temperatures on trays and monitor dishmachine temperatures.
• Load patient trays into meal carts and deliver to nursing stations and late trays as needed.
• Perform cleaning tasks including washing dishes, pots and pans, and general sanitation.
• Stock and clean work areas and maintain organized, sanitary food service areas.

Job description

Performs a variety of tasks associated with the serving of patient meal trays, hot and cold entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts and supplements. Takes and logs hot and cold food temps on trayline as well as dishmachine and refrigerator/freezer temps. Loads patient trays into meal carts and delivers meal carts/late trays for patients to nursing station. Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including detail cleaning, washing dishes, and pots and pans. Responsible for stocking and cleaning work areas. Works on patient trayline to include set-up and service as well as breakdown and sanitation. Complies with food safety (HACCP) standards. May be asked to do other tasks associated with food service as the need arises.
